I cannot get enough of lentils right now. Before I moved to London, they just weren’t on my radar. Never really came into my life. Then I moved here and I can’t even remember how they first entered the scene, but I’m so glad they did. Taj, my Indian store on Brick Lane, carries more lentils than I would even know what to do with. It’s really one of the craziest, most awesome places. I just love it. I’ve been using black lentils in dahls, with potatos, parsley, lemon and creme fraiche (so so so good) and cooked in beef stock with some steak. I recently made Chana Dahl that was really delicious. Had to add some chicken for the man. I could have done without but it’s asking a lot to not have any meat with a meal, I know. He’s just not there and that’s ok. We just throw some chicken thigh chunks on there and he’s good to go. And the chicken really was delicious in it.
Lentils- so good, so healthy. So obsessed.
